چکیده
Recently, nanomaterials have been widely used to improve the properties of asphalt binders due their unique properties. This research aims evaluate performance nano-modified with two different types nanomaterials, which are Nano-Silica (NS) and Nano-Clay (NC). Each them was added a 60/70 penetration grade bitumen at concentrations ranging from 1% 4% by binder weight using high shear mixer speed 4000 rpm mixing temperature 145 °C for 60 minutes. A number basic tests were carried out on binders, such as grade, softening point, rotational viscosity, stability storage tests. Moreover, Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) utilized ensure quality process investigate modified binder's internal composition. Furthermore, an additional laboratory study characterize corresponding concrete (AC) mixtures based Marshall stability, indirect tensile strength, moisture susceptibility, double-punch, static creep Based experimental results, best attained when incorporating 3-4% nanoparticles neat binder. In general, addition NS or NC particles positively affected AC mixture in terms debonding, damage, rutting. However, more effective compared can be build sturdy pavements

Performance Evaluation of Dynamic Modulus Predictive Models for Asphalt Mixtures
Dynamic modulus characterizes the viscoelastic behavior of asphalt materials and is the most important input parameter for design and rehabilitation of flexible pavements using Mechanistic–Empirical Pavement Design Guide (MEPDG). Laboratory determination of dynamic modulus is very expensive and time consuming. To overcome this challenge, several predictive models were developed to determine dyn...

Asphalt modification/reinforcement has received considerable attention as viable solutions to enhance flexible pavement performance. This is mainly prompted by the unsatisfactory performance of traditional road materials exposed to dramatic increases and changes in traffic patterns. This paper presents the evaluation of fatigue behaviour of nano reinforced Stone Mastic Asphalt mixtures. Fatigue...
متن کاملEvaluation of Fatigue Properties of Asphalt Mixtures Containing Reclaimed Asphalt using Response Surface Method
This paper presents the effects of different amounts of reclaimed asphalt on fatigue life of asphalt mixtures. Central composite method was used to design of experiments based on response surface method (RSM). Binder type (Pen 60/70 and Pen 85/100), reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) content (25, 50 and 75%) and loading strain (150, 250 and 350 micro strain) were selected as independent variables...

متن کاملrutting performance of polypropylene modified asphalt concrete
rutting in asphalt concrete is a very common form of distress in asphalt concrete pavement which unfortunately has been incurable to date. one of the prime reasons of rutting is attributed to the behaviour of asphalt binder at elevated temperature. this study has investigated the performance of polypropylene fibres modified asphalt concrete mix against rutting. two types of asphalt concrete sam...
